Planning Commission
Applications are currently being accepted from City residents interested in serving on the Planning Commission.
Commissioners are residents that, through their volunteer efforts, play an integral role in the growth and development of their city. Volunteers serving on the City's Commissions apply their unique knowledge and experiences to the issues and the needs of the City. They function as a focus group from within the community and create ideas to assist the City Council in shaping legislative policy.
Applications must be received by 4 p.m. on October 27, 2023. Submit your application to the Clerk's office at City Hall or by email to Debora Nicholas @ dnicholas@cityofup.com.

- 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month
- 7 p.m.

Special Meetings
- As necessary (notice of Special Meetings will be posted a minimum of 24 hours in advance of meetings)

About the Commission
The Planning Commission is a group of seven members that advise the City Council on the following topics:
- Growth management
- General land use
- Transportation planning
- Long-range capital improvement plans
- Other matters as directed by the City Council
The Planning Commission shall also hold hearings on and develop a Comprehensive Plan for the City and make recommendations to the City Council on amendments to the Comprehensive Plan, the Zoning Code and map, and the Development Regulations of the City.
