City Clerk

Responsibilities

  • The City Clerk's Office is responsible to the City Manager for support of City Council meetings, including agendas, calendars, minutes, packets, and legal notices. Additional support is provided by way of Committee/Commission recruitment and membership tracking. 
  • The Clerk's Office is also responsible for the overall City-wide records management and essential records programs as well as public records requests and electronic records access.
  • The Clerk's Office coordinates the City's election matters with Pierce County and manages the City's Municipal Code, Policies and Procedures and Fee Schedule updates.

Business Licenses

City business licenses are administered by the Clerk's Office and processed in partnership with the State of Washington Business Licensing Service.
