All Community Thanksgiving Dinner

Everyone is invited to attend the community annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner, at no charge, on Nov. 24, at U.P. Primary School cafeteria, located at 2708 Grandview Drive West. Dinner will be served from noon until 2 p.m.

Public Input Sought at Subarea Plan Community Workshops (Meeting 2)

Want to help shape the future of land use in University Place? Then please make plans to attend upcoming workshops designed to collect citizen input on the Subarea Planning process that is underway.

Representatives of the Redmond-based planning and design firm OTAK will be on hand to facilitate these workshops which are an important part of the City's effort to receive full designation by the Puget Sound Regional Council as a Regional Growth Center.

Annual Holiday Party at the Senior Center

Enjoy friends, food and festivities as we celebrate this magical season together on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the University Place Senior Center.

Light appetizers and snacks will be provided. Please bring a dessert to share.

Start the holiday celebrations with a great photo of your favorite furry (or not!) friend and Santa during the annual Santa Paws Pet Photos  on Sunday, Dec. 4, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the U.P. Civic/Library Atrium located at 3609 Market Place (36th and Bridgeport) in University Place.

Layla and Me Photography will provide professional 5x7 photos for $22 each with reprints available for $5 each. All proceeds go towards the off leash dog park at Chambers Bay in University Place.

Home-Based Business Holiday Partner UP

It’s hard to believe, but pumpkins and black cats will soon be replaced by lighted trees and candy canes. So please make a note to attend the Home-Based Business Holiday Partner UP on Saturday, Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Civic Building atrium.

Meet the owners of local businesses that operate from their homes and see how their products or services make great holiday gifts. The event is free and those who complete a card indicating a visit to all of the vendors will be eligible for a drawing to win one of several prize baskets.

Make a Difference Day in U.P.

Join your friends and neighbors on Saturday, October 22, 2016 and “Make A Difference” in University Place by pitching in to help improve two of our city’s community parks. 

Volunteers are needed to help with clean-up activities at Colegate Park (3717 Grandview Dr W., next to Curtis High School) as part of efforts to enhance the area’s passive recreational opportunities and provide a place to walk in this small, quiet nature park. In addition, a tree will be planted in honor of Arbor Day.

Pierce County Council District 4 Candidate Forum

Save the date for a Candidate Forum from 7 to 8:30 on Tuesday, October 18, hosted by the League of Women Voters, for the District 4 position representing University Place. In attendance will be the two candidates, Kit Burns and Connie Ladenburg.
