
Committees, Commissions and Partners
City Council commissions provide a community sounding board and focus group to originate ideas and assist the City Council in fashioning legislative policy. Commissions are exclusively advisory to the City Council. To find out more about City Commissions, or for information regarding volunteer opportunities with our City Partners, click on a selection below.
Applications are currently being accepted from City residents interested in serving on the Park Advisory Commission, Public Safety Advisory Commission, and the Planning Commission. These vacancies will remain open until filled.

A City Partner is defined in one of the following ways; as a group that the City makes a financial contribution or provides in-kind services to, groups that have a written contract with the City, or groups that maintain or improve public facilities. Council also recognizes groups that fulfill a special community need.

The University Place Civic and Library Building is a community gathering space. The Atrium may be used for events sponsored by the City of University Place and the Pierce County Library System as well as any of their approved partners.
