Ashley Knutsen, Youth Council President, was named Youth Volunteer of the year for her outstanding leadership while serving on University Place's Youth Council, UPYC, and the entire Youth Council received the Youth Organization Award for their hard work on projects and programs through-out the 2008 year, including the Daddy Daughter Dance and Parks Appreciation Day.
What is the University Place Youth Council?
Join the University Place Youth Council. These motivated groups of young people meet the first and third Monday of each month. The focus of UPYC is to provide constructive activities and positive role models for the youth of University Place. UPYC also provides community support by assisting with community and local charities or events. This is a great way to get to know U.P. teen's grades 8-12 while contributing in a meaningful way to your community and surrounding area. Mission Statement.
How Do I Join?
Easy! Just fill out the application form and attend the meetings. We are always looking for new members and we want you! Youth Council applications can be picked up at University Place parks & Recreation office; 3715 Bridgeport Way W, U.P. How do I Become a Member of the Executive Council?
Election of new officers will take place in October of each year. Each position is a one-year term. Read our Expectations.
