The Municipal Court is a court of limited jurisdiction that hears criminal misdemeanors and gross misdemeanors, infractions, parking and photo infraction violations that occur in the City.

 

Municipal court services are provided to the City of University Place by the City of Lakewood. The University Place Municipal Court is a separate entity from the Lakewood Municipal Court; however, in order to achieve cost efficiencies and provide residents with a high level of service, the City of University Place has partnered with Lakewood to provide municipal court, prosecution, and public defender services.
