Crime Prevention: The anticipation, recognition and appraisal of a crime risk and the initiation of some action to remove or reduce it.

To reach the dispatch center for non-emergencies where the perpetrator is gone and you want an officer to investigate.


The prevention of crimes is a primary focus and goal of the University Place Police. It is when crimes are prevented that society is best served. The University Place Police have several measures in place to help citizens and businesses to determine their risks and take measures to prevent crime, which are listed in detail on the Crime Prevention Programs page linked below.
