The City appoints citizens to advisory boards, commissions, and committees and task forces which advise and make recommendations to the City Council and staff on certain decisions and policy matters.
Councilmembers, city staff and community members make up various commissions and committees within the City of University Place. Each year the committees and commissions meet with the City Council; this year the group held their meeting on Monday, February 27. This Powerpoint presentation describes the vision and strategies of University Place as discussed at that meeting. This presentation also touches on the City's economic stability along with glimpses into the future with pictures of Town Center.
There are also many community groups or City Partners within the community such as those listed below. A City Partner is defined as a group that the City makes a financial contribution to or provides in-kind services, groups that have a written contract with the City, groups that maintain or improve public facilities, and Council recognizes groups that fulfill a special community need.
