I have been involved as a volunteer in this community since 1992 serving on the Planning Commission. I teamed with community leaders, citizens and businesses to develop the vision and priorities or the community that framed the Comprehensive Plan. This was a monumental process that united the community with a common purpose through numerous community meetings, visioning sessions, council meetings, etc. People’s views were listened to and respected and after much discussion a Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 1998 and the city moved forward to create a community based on this document.
I have strived over the past 15+ years to remember the community vision, the community’s desire to preserve the single family neighborhoods and the infringement of multi-family and businesses into the single family zone. I believe firmly in listening, working as a team member and making the tough decisions when needed to benefit the community as a whole.
