Question: When are Council meetings held?
Answer: The City Council meets at 7 p.m. the first and third Monday's of the month for Regular Business Meetings, the second Monday's of the month are Council Study Sessions. All City Council meetings are held in the Town Hall Meeting Room, located at City Hall, 3715 Bridgeport Way West. Each individual Council meeting is listed on the Event Calendar section of the website with a link to its agenda.
Question: Can I bring up an issue or comment at a City Council Meeting?
Answer: Yes. At the beginning and end of each Regular Council meeting, under agenda item "PUBLIC COMMENTS," citizens may address the Council and comment on any issue that concerns them and is not on that evening's agenda. Citizens who want to speak must arrive ahead of the meeting in order to sign in. When called upon by the Mayor, these persons may address their concern. Public comment remarks are limited to four minutes as the Council must attend to a full business agenda. Citizens may also be given an opportunity to comment on individual agenda items during special comment periods, prior to Council discussion of the item. These items include, but are not limited to, Ordinances, Resolutions, and Council business issues. These comment periods are in addition to the "Public Comment" period at the beginning and end of each Regular meeting and are utilized at the discretion of the Mayor.
Question: How do I find out what's on the next City Council Agenda?
Answer: Copies of Council Meeting Agendas are available by contacting the City Clerk's Office. Copies are also posted on the City's webpage and at the Fire Department, Library, and City Hall. If you wish to receive all future City Council Agendas, you can be added to the City's mailing list by contacting the City Clerk's Office.
